This is a reproduction, not a photocopy, of original Powermatic's Guide to Planing Excellence and the supplement to Planer - Knife Grinding Techniques. We combined both manuals into one for your convinence. We felt they were both useful for getting a good cut on a Powermatic planer.
The Guide to Planing Excellence the set up and fine tuning the planer, and how to check and adjust your outfeed and infeed rollers. It also contains a troubleshooting with common problems and solutions found during planing. There are a few pages on setting and adjusting the knives as well.
The Knife Grinding Techniques book covers how to set up and grind on the planer with the grinding attachment. It shows how to double-grind to maintain a shaper knife longer.
