Description
Three pieces are offered here: two Syracuse pieces: 9” rimmed soup bowl and small creamer in the Thebes pattern; and one Shenango creamer with handle in the Katy Ornaments pattern. All three items are in very good used condition, with no cracks or chips. The bowl is marked O,P.Co Syracuse and the creamer is not marked. I found information about the Thebes pattern: it dates from 1910 and these are in green, though Thebes was made in various colors. The pattern has also been called Depot. The creamers measure 2 ¾” tall by 2” wide at the bottom. The Shenango Katy Ornaments pattern was made from 1954-63 and was used by the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad, known as “Katy.” (The Taj Mahal song “She took the Katy” comes to mind!) The colors are green and light brown. The colorful Shenango China logo is on the bottom.
These patterns can be considered Art Nouveau or Arts & Crafts.
